Business Development Manager - Waste/Recycling

Our client handles over 10 millions of waste every year, servicing over 1 million households and 70,000 businesses. They are 1 of only 3 truly National operators.
Our client is already a leader in the chemical and hazardous waste industry, but is now going on a major drive to capitalise on some fantastic advancements in their service offering. They are currently looking to recruit 4 business development managers to work on a national basis.
THE ROLE
Business Development Executive, Sales Executive, Sales Manager, Corporate Development Manager, Commercial Manager
£35,000-£40,000 OTE £55,000-£60,000 uncapped, Company Car or Car Allowance, Private Medical Insurance, Pension, 25 days holiday, Flexible Benefits Scheme.
The business development manager will provide hazardous and chemical waste treatment solutions to major organisations across the UK. With the opportunity to enter all relevant markets it is crucial to spend time with major clients, listen to their story, understand their business and then provide a pain free solution.
Contract values will start at £250,000 per year, often on a 3 year cycle. Relationships will need to be built at multiple levels, across divisions including facilities, procurement and operations.
Leads will be generated for the business development manager through a combination of an experienced team of internal telemarketer`s, internal referrals from the regional sales teams, their own self generation and invitation to tender. It is crucial that the business development holds a strong relationship with the commercial sales team, therefore allowing them to work together to win total waste management contracts.
The business development manager will have the support of established bid/tender team, a fantastic marketing department and the most recognised brand in the industry.

THE PERSON
Applicants currently working as business development managers, sales executives, account managers or in any professional sales role with a provable track record of success are invited to apply if they have :
Essential
- Previous experience of selling to major corporate clients
- Experience of working and selling in a consultative fashion
- Solution sales experience
- Ability to build strong relationships with multiple stakeholders
- Exposure to sales cycles in excess of 6 months
- Good listening skills and questioning techniques
- Experience of internal networking, drawing on the experience of other divisions while putting a complex bid together.
Desirable
- Experience for a major player in the chemical treatment/hazardous waste environment
- Experience working in a structured sales environment
- Strong administration skills
- Previous experience of working remotely while retaining a strong link with internal support functions
- Excellent attention to detail
